Summit County Animal Control’s Clear the Shelter Adoption Event is ongoing through Aug. 31, with reduced adoption costs for dogs and cats.

Throughout August, adoption costs will be reduced to $28 for dogs (regularly $94) and $5 for cats (regularly $50). The animals will be fully vetted (bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal deworming, spay/neuter and vaccinations). Those who adopt a dog will receive a 2022 Summit County dog license included in the adoption cost.

Clear the Shelters is an annual national pet adoption drive that helps animals find homes. Last year, 20 shelters across Northeast Ohio found homes for more than 2,500 pets. The county encourages using #CleartheShelters on social media.
